When the economy was rockin and rollin back in 2000, I trested myself by first leasing (as a trial) and then purchasing (because I loved it) an Audi TT. So far it's been the most reliable car I've ever owned... this March 21st will be its 10th birthday and as far as repairs go it's had: a synthetic transmission service to resolve a third-gear grinding issue, and a MAP sensor replaced. That's it. Just gas, oil changes and a set of tires. For those of you unaware, the the Audi TT is a two-door sports car manufactured by Audi Hungaria Motor Kft. in Hungary, since 1998, for the German automaker and Volkswagen Group subsidiary AUDI AG. The Audi TT is now in its second generation — and both generations have been available in two car body styles; as a 2+2 Coupé (which is what I have), or two-seater Roadster. They have been built on consecutive generations of the Volkswagen Group A platform, starting with the A4. As a result of this platform-sharing, the Audi TT has identical powertrain and suspension layouts as its related platform-mates; this includes a front-mounted transversely oriented engine, front-wheel drive or quattro permanent four-wheel drive system, and fully independent front suspension using heavy duty MacPherson struts. You're welcome.
Old and busted: demolishing a 30-story building by implosion. The new hotness: demolishing a 30-story building by pulling it over with backhoes.
This is how we did the MITO back in the day. These are B-52G's and KC-135A's from the 416 BMW, at the former Griffiss AFB, NY. The Buff with the old "lizard" paint scheme is piloted by Capt. John Hannan. The loud voices you hear are the maintenance specialists that worked all night getting the aircraft ready. Global Shield Minimum Interval Take Off (MITO) launch of B-52’s and K-135’s back in 1987. What you’re seeing in the video is taking place, simultaneously, at every SAC base in the United States. Every B-52 in the video was eventually sent to the boneyard by HW Bush to be chopped up according to START Treaty. We went from a fleet of 300 of these monsters to under 70 today. You’ll notice the KC-135’s are flying heavy by the amount of runway they’re taking and they’re also trying to fly under the jet wash of the BUFF’s. The turbulence really bounces them around.
I was astonished to see that I've never done a gallery of Gillian Anderson. I'm only surprised as she is one of those women I had the hots for growing up as a teenager. Even at 42 I’d still give her one if given the chance. Well, she doesn't seem to be a fiery redhead anymore, kind of a strawberry blonde. Anyway, after seeing a photoset of the sexy (former?) redhead posing for some official shoot, I have to say time has not been kind to Agent Scully.
