Fifteen-year-old Chicago native Herbert Pulgar was a survivor. When he was 4 years old, a candle set his shirt on fire and burned most of his stomach. If the first responding firefighters and police officers hadn't saved him, Pulgar would not have lived to see 5. For 10 years, Herb wanted to find a way to show how grateful he was for his local heroes. When he heard about the vehicle registration sticker design contest that Chicago holds every year, he designed a sticker honoring the men and women of Chicago's First Responders. And his design ended up winning! Along with bragging rights, Herbert was awarded a $1,000 savings bond, and his sticker was to be featured on the 1.3 million cars in Chicago. And that's right about when things took a really shitty turn for the worst.
Solden is a municipality in the Otztal valley of Tyrol, Austria and a 180 square miles, it is the largest municipality in the country. The population of 3,449 is outnumbered by tourists, of which 15,000 can be accommodated. With tourist bed nights running at over two million per year, the municipality is third only to Vienna and Salzburg as an Austrian tourist destination. Solden has lost some its former small village charm, but other attractions have been enhanced in recent years. Solden is also a popular ski resort and regularly hosts the first World Cup races of the season; a giant slalom for both men and women is usually scheduled for late October on the Rettenbach glacier. On the afternoon of May 3, 2009, an avalanche killed six people in the Austrian Alps. Six people were killed, five Czechs and one Slovak, when the disaster struck in the 11,500 ft Schalfkogel mountain range. The corpses were discovered to have been frozen upon recovery.

Fire is the rapid oxidation of a material in the exothermic chemical process of combustion, releasing heat, light, and various reaction products. Fire can be extinguished by removing any one of the elements of the fire tetrahedron. Consider a natural gas flame, such as from a stovetop burner. The fire can be extinguished by any of the following: turning off the gas supply, which removes the fuel source; covering the flame completely, which smothers the flame as the combustion both uses the available oxidizer (the oxygen in the air) and displaces it from the area around the flame with CO2; application of water, which removes heat from the fire faster than the fire can produce it (similarly, blowing hard on a flame will displace the heat of the currently burning gas from its fuel source, to the same end), or application of a retardant chemical such as Halon to the flame, which retards the chemical reaction itself until the rate of combustion is too slow to maintain the chain reaction.

Ernie, I ran a parallel course to you on these guns (AR15s and AK47s). I used to think that they were unnecessary. However, I've since changed my mind. I don't need one of these guns but I don't have to justify a reason to get one (at least not yet). I've already got a Bulgarian AK47 variant and I'm shopping for an AR15. I'm adding the AR15 because of two reasons, the prices have come down on the guns and the ammo, and it is much easier to mount an optic sight on an AR. My older eyes don't see iron-sights as well as they used to. Louis, Houston, TX -- P.S. HSE stands for Health, Safety, and Environmental
Some athletes are all business when it comes to their particular sport, and they don't care to split their time between sports and modeling. Which is totally fine, but not as much fun for the general public. Then there are others who don't mind taking it off on occasion. Whether it's just to make ends meet and pay the bills or narcissism and vanity run amok, it's always a treat for the public when an athlete makes a foray into the world of underwear modeling. Let's take a look at 20 athletes who have made that foray; don't worry, we start with a female water polo player from England.
