Have you ever been on a plane that's about to land .... 3,000 feet.... 2,000 feet... 1,000 feet... 500 feet... 200 feet... and then suddenly the engines roar to life and the pilot goes around for another attempt? What the fuck happened, right? It may be a shitty approach, poor instruction from the tower, or the runway has fucking disappeared. Wait, what? Check out the "Boeing Jet Tries To Land in Heavy Rain, Runway Disappears" video and see if you don't shit yourself at the moment of truth.
The MV Cougar Ace is a Singapore-flagged roll-on/roll-off car carrier vessel, built by Kanasashi Company of Toyohashi, Japan and launched in June 1993. On July 23, 2006, she was en route from Japan to Vancouver, British Columbia; Tacoma, Washington; and Port Hueneme, California, with a cargo of 4,812 vehicles. During a transfer of ballast water south of the Aleutian Islands, she lost stability and developed a 60-degree list to port. According to Car and Driver magazine, the exact contents of the shipment were 2804 Mazda3s, 1329 CX-7s, 295 MX-5s, 214 RX-8s, 56 Mazda5s and 5 Mazdaspeed6s. The total cargo is said to have been valued at $117 million. Led by Salvage Master Captain Rich Habib, a team was able to get aboard the vessel via a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter from the cutter Morgenthau, and right the ship. Mazda officials reported little to no damage to the vehicles on board despite the ship listing nearly 90 degrees for over a month. Later Mazda North America scrapped all of their vehicles that were on board the vessel during the incident. I only mention this because The 2013 Mazda Miata Club is Mazda's sleek convertible sports car for those who appreciate high performance mixed with a little well-engineered fun. Also, the Cougar Ace is alive and well, and currently at port in Singapore.
Skype is a proprietary voice-over-IP service and software application, first released in August 2003 written by Estonian developers Ahti Heinla, Priit Kasesalu, and Jaan Tallinn, Danish Janus Friis, and Swedish Niklas Zennstrom, who had also originally developed Kazaa. It developed into a platform with over 600 million users and was bought by Microsoft in 2011 for $8.5 billion. The service allows users to communicate with peers by voice using a microphone, video by using a webcam, and instant messaging over the Internet.
Ernie, I toured the viper plant last week and thought you would like some shots of the all American super car. Enjoy! Rich
Every once in a while I click through your erniecam pages, and I often wonder if there's something I'm missing. Sometimes you link to it as part of your daily thing, but most of the time not, and there are photographs there that are just crying out for descriptions. Like these three. I'm guessing it had something to do with the dead-ass grass, so I feel like there's a story there, but you've put up pictures of your house before and I remember you don't live on a corner. So what's up? Am I missing something? Is there a companion site where these are captioned? By the way, this photo needs no caption. -- Matt
The ugly truth is Matt, there isn't any awesome backstory to go along with the burned lawn photos. Those are just some pics I snapped of my neighbor's lawn after they were away on a 3 week cruise and their sprinkler system shit the bed a week in. I finagled a makeshift system using another neighbor's house and took those pics in case the City Code Enforcement guys whow up and asked why I was watering during the day -- a huge no-no around here -- and were going to write a ticket. being time and date stamped, most of the photos that get posted are more reminders to myself about grocery shopping or that I needed to take my car in to have the instrument cluster (BOOBS) replaced... but I'll make more of an effort to include the what's what on the more interesting ones: 2013 Jaguar F-TYPE V8 S - 2012 Audi R8 Roadster - 2010 Gallardo LP 550-2 Spyder - 2013 Audi R8 hardtop - 1972 Chevy C10 Pickup - 1975 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow
Once upon a time, artists had to render each sprite frame by frame to depict violence and gore, but these days, games engines are more than capable of depicting it with the use of ragdoll physics and detachable skeletal models, along with a host of shaders and texture effects. So without further ado, here are the top 25 most violent, goriest games of all time.
A walk in nature brings us a serenity by allowing our overstimulated modern minds a chance to rest. It helps us to relax, it lowers our stress, depression, and anxiety levels, it increases our attention spans and memory, and it provides a source of gentle exercise. Spending time in the natural world slows us down and makes us feel at peace; thus nature walks can be very effective as a supplemental therapy for addiction, ADHD, anxiety, and high levels of stress!
