So Long Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane, We Hardly Knew Ye.

James Best was an American actor, who in six decades of television is best known for his starring role as bumbling Sheriff Coltrane in the CBS television series The Dukes of Hazzard. He also worked as an acting coach, artist, college professor, and musician. He also served honorably in the United States Army Air Force as a gunner on a B-17 bomber during World War II. Best died on April 6, 2015, in Hickory, North Carolina from complications of pneumonia. He was 88 years old. So long, Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane, we hardly knew ye.

This morning around 4am or so, I awoke out of a dead sleep thinking of the guy who rode the motorcycle in the chase scenes from The Great Escape. Yeah you know who I'm talking about. He's also the guy who drove the Mustang in the chase scene in Bullit, and played Fire Chief Mike O'Hallorhan in The Towering Inferno. But fuck all if I could remember his name. James Dean was all I could think of and I knew that wasn't right. Shit, Dr House even named his fucking rat after the guy, and his name was on the tip of my tongue and I just couldn't remember. I had to get the fuck up, find my phone and Google The Great Escape to come up with Steve McQueen. Anyway, that on-the-tip-of-my-tongue thing is exactly how I feel about this alcohol banner. I know I've seen it before... what the fuck brand is it?

If you were one of those people who felt very strongly that the GoFund me for Memories Pizzeria was in poor taste, then you now have the opportunity to put your money where your mouth is. The original pro-Memories fundraiser was able to rack up $842k in two days. Now, setting aside all of the passive-aggressive Jesus references, there is anow a counter counter fundraiser -- all the proceeds will benefit the Human Rights Campaign which works to promote equality in America -- that has managed to scrounge up $698 in the same period of time. So go forth and prosper!

And if you're an aspiring cook and looking to add I've Got To Have That Recipe! to your collection of cookbooks, don't spend the around $26 and up that everyone else is asking, someone in New York willing to part with theirs for only $9.99 with free shipping.

Hey Ernie, I also tried to unsuccessfully locate the spot at Scottsdale Quarter with Street View, so I decided to undertake a boots on the ground reconnaissance and can definitely report it was taken at Scottsdale Quarter. I mapped the actual spot and took a photo from the exact location. Keep 'em coming. Tim

If you go to the 15000 block of 73rd St. North, in Scottsdale, and look accross the empty lot you can zoom in on the balcony where the picture was taken. Rick

Paul Linerode is a Korean War veteran. He has been through hell and survived it. Here he is recounting of one of the bloodiest battles in American History and his time on the front lines.

A patch panel is a networking device or unit featuring a number of jacks, usually of the same or similar type, for the use of connecting and routing circuits for monitoring, interconnecting, and testing circuits in a convenient, flexible manner. The standard for telephone plugs varies from country to country, though the RJ11 modular connector has become by far the most common. Patch panels are commonly used in computer networking, recording studios, and radio and television. So to be brutally honest, I have no idea what the hell one this big is doing in a hotel room.

I'll pass on the barbecue, and the pizza and the lasanga and the steamers... but I'd definitely in for a nice steak. Where am I headed to?

Hey Ernie, I think I found it here: Bistro Le Gaulois, Kreuzgasse 5 99084, Erfurt, Germany. I never could figure out Streetview but have attached pic taken from different angle. Thanks Dan

Hey Ernie, didn't find any parking lots near Bistro le Gaulois in Erfurt Germany. Would probably take public transit or taxi as they are phenomenal there. Found the location by starting with the beer. Radeberger Brewery has been around since 1872. Since it is Germany, the first two letters of the plate indicate a city location, and EF points us to Erfurt. No street view, but the first link shows someone sitting in the lounge area. Mark

Whoa, whoa, whoa. What crazy curve handled toothbrush is this?
