The natural mineral water aquifer of Serra do Buçaco, has two extraction sites – one in Luso and another in Caldas de Penacova. Within 2 years of signing the concession contract, the bottling plant was planned, licences were obtained from the various entities involved, and the factory was built and equipment installed, with production starting in April 1999. To ensure the best operating conditions and product quality, there is a laboratory controlling microbiological parameters from the beginning of the process where the PET packaging is produced within the factory to the final bottled Caldas de Penacova product.
