According to a 2014 report by VDC Research on the benefits of two-way radio versus cellular, annual failure rates of cellular devices are a whopping 18-20% compared to the relatively small 4-8% of rugged two-way radios. The same report estimates a loss of between 60 and 120 minutes of productivity each time a device is damaged, highlighting the problem of downtime due to cellular device failure. Furthermore, emergencies often leave cell networks vulnerable to systemic overloads, making most smartphones and tablets all but useless when they are needed the most. Not having to deal with network outages makes modern two-way radio a better choice where reliability is the main concern.
Widely recognized by many as the first popular filtered cigarette, Kent was introduced by the Lorillard Tobacco Company in 1952 around the same time a series of articles entitled "cancer by the carton", published by Reader's Digest, scared American consumers into seeking out a filter brand at a time when most brands were filterless. Kent widely touted its "famous micronite filter" and promised consumers the "Greatest health protection in history." Sales of Kent skyrocketed, and it has been estimated that in the first four years that Kent was on the market, Lorillard sold some 13 billion Kent cigarettes. From March 1952 until at least May 1956, however, the Micronite filter in Kent cigarettes contained carcinogenic blue asbestos. It has been suspected that many cases of mesothelioma have been caused specifically by smoking the original Kent cigarettes. Lorillard quietly changed the filter material from asbestos to the more common cellulose acetate in mid 1956.
CHALLENGE #3: The global hotel industry revenue is predicted to reach $550 billion US dollars in 2017. The industry revenue was worth $457 billion US dollars in 2012, which showcases an increase in revenue of almost $100 billion US dollars in the past five years, should this prediction proves to be true. Europe and Asia Pacific continue to be key regions for the industry at large with the highest hotel occupancy rates to be found there at over 68%. So if I've only got a 32% chance of scoring a room to bring this lass back to, I had better start making some calls. What waterfront hotel am I calling?
