When it comes to young adult and tween novels, Barnes and Noble is in possession of exclusive content from authors like John Green, Veronica Roth, and Cassandra Clare. The bookstore chain began its “exclusive edition” program several years ago but has recently experienced a great amount of success with the publication of special editions of such works as “The Fault in Our Stars” by Green, which Barnes and Noble released with exclusive new content that included a new book cover and a question-and-answer session with Green, among other new material.
"You Are My Sunshine" is a popular song recorded by Jimmie Davis and Charles Mitchell and first recorded in 1939. It has been declared one of the state songs of Louisiana because of its association with Davis, a country music singer and governor of the state in the years 1944–1948. The song has been covered numerous times — so often, in fact, that it is "one of the most commercially programmed numbers in American popular music." The song, originally country music, has "virtually lost" its original country music identity, and "represents both the national flowering of country music and its eventual absorption into the mainstream of American popular culture.” In 1941, it was covered by Gene Autry, Bing Crosby, Mississippi John Hurt, Wayne King and Lawrence Welk. The versions by Autry, Crosby and King reached the US charts of the day. The 1940 version by Davis has been selected for long-term preservation and added to the National Recording Registry in the Library of Congress.
Hermes International is a French high fashion luxury goods manufacturer established in 1837. The family company is very attached to its old-fashioned business model and rejects mass production, assembly lines, and mechanization. Hermès goods are almost entirely made in France by hand in middle-sized workshops with an emphasis on quality manufacturing. Indeed, Hermès claims most items are fabricated from beginning to end by one person only, which is supposed to be a guarantee of the quality and uniqueness of Hermès products. As of 2008, Hermès International specializes in fourteen product divisions encompassing leather, scarves, ties, men's wear, women's fashion, perfume, high end watches, stationery, footwear, gloves, enamel, decorative arts, tableware, and jewelery. Its logo, since the 1950s, is of a Duc carriage with horse.
