The accident occurred at 5:06 a.m., with the truckbursting into flames, forcing the halt of the interstate's westbound traffic for about eight hours. The Sheriff's Department said Calvin and Brenda Roberts, who were inside the truck, were killed in the crash. Calvin Roberts, 58, and Brenda Roberts, 54, were from Oil Trough, Ark., northeast of Little Rock. The Sheriff's Department did not have additional details on the couple or the cause of the accident as of press time. The accident closed westbound I-96 between Martin Luther King Boulevard and I-496 Tuesday morning. The ramp from northbound I-69 to westbound I-96 also was closed, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation. [article] - Hal
